Prakriti Kakar is a singer from India her career started when she sang the title song for the Bollywood film Tutiya Dil, which was released in 2012. She only did a few tunes for films released in 2013, largely supplying background vocals. "Sudhar Ja," "Mafiyaan," "Kehndi haa Kehndi naa," "Hum tum “and” Sona lagda" is some of the independent music videos she and her twin sister Sukriti Kakar have made.
CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE
Prakriti Kakar was born in New Delhi. Her twin sister Sukriti and sister Akriti, as well as her mother, a music teacher, all sing, and she learned music from her mother. Her mother decided to train her professionally because of her interest in music. Kakar studied classical music for seven years before branching out into keyboard and western music. Akriti Kakar, her older sister, came to Mumbai with her father to pursue a career in Bollywood singing, while Prakriti and the rest of her family joined them later. "When I came here, I was told that we were going to Mumbai for a trip," Kakar said of her youth. Imagine my astonishment when I started school here and realized we were staying for the long haul. For me, this city was a culture shock."
EARLY RELEASES
Kakar made her debut in Gulraj Singh's Tutiya Dil (2012), performing the title song with Ram Sampath. She then starred alongside Akshay Deodhar and her twin sister Sukriti Kakar in the Nasha (2013) tune "Goti Song." Her role in the song was understated, much like her second release later in the year, Meet Bros' Boss title track. "I Paid a Bribe" and the Shankar Mahadevan Academy released another rendition of her "Mujhse Hogi Shurvaat" as an anti-corruption movement. The song is performed by Mahadevan, Sukriti Kakar, and Chetan Naik, in addition to Kakar. The song was nominated for the 2014 Honesty Oscars in the category of the best activist anthem.
In June 2014, Ankit Tiwari overheard Kakar singing in a fashion show and offered her to perform in one of his shows as a female vocalist. She was then approached about singing for the Alone song "Katra Katra" (2015). The recording took two hours, including her minor inflections and modifications. Tiwari claimed that her voice possessed the "necessary ingredient" for a song in the genre. She "doesn't strive to sound sexy yet succeeds to communicate the tone required for a song in an erotic thriller," according to Kasmin Fernandes of The Times of India.
INFLUENCES
Meet Bros and A. R. Rahman were also among her favorite composers.
